If you are thinking of listing your home for sale in the near future and don’t have the budget of time for major upgrades, you can still give your home a makeover without breaking the bank.  Here are a few ideas.

• A study by Michigan State University found that landscaping can increase a home’s value by 5 to 11 percent and shortens the selling time. So, cut the grass, remove weeds, clean up dry leaves, trim bushes, and consider adding some mulch to enhance your garden.
• Replace or refinish the front door and replace the hardware if needed.
• Power wash decks, siding and walkways, and sand and stain decks as well.
• Clean windows inside and out.
• The entryway is your fist opportunity to make a statement and set the tone for visitors. Choose items that create a welcoming feel, such as a framed mirror, a console, and a bench, and ensure that the area is well-lit.
• Install new light fixtures if they are outdated.
• Refinish kitchen cabinets and update them with new hardware.
• Repaint the interior to brighten it up.
• Recaulk the bathroom.
